Vladimir R. Medinsky

Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation (2012-2020)

Born on 18 July 1970 in Cherkasy region, USSR. In 1987-1992 studied in Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University), studying at MGIMO University. In 1992 graduated with honors.

1992-1998 – has been working in media business.

1993-1994 - postgraduate studies at MGIMO University, received a PhD in Historical Sciences.

1998-1999 - Director of the Department of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation. State Counselor of the tax service (2d Class)

1999-2004 - head of management of the political bloc «Fatherland-All Russia», head of Moscow Executive Committee of the “United Russia” political party.

2004-2005 - Deputy Head of the Central Election Committee of “United Russia”

2010-2012 - Member of the Commission under the President of Russia on counteraction of falsification of history

2012 - appointed the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation.

2013 - Chairman of the Russian public-state organization "Russian Military and Historical Society".

2017 - Member of the bureau of the Supreme Council of "United Russia".

January 2020 - Vladimir Putin appointed Vladimir Medinsky Aide to the President of the Russian Federation.

Member of the Writers' Union of Russia. Author of a historical and journalistic books (more than 1 million copies sold in Russia and abroad).
