IV Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2019)

MGIMO Arctic Student Research Club invites everyone interested in the Arctic region to participate in the IV Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2019), which will be held at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Moscow) on December 9-10, 2019.

The MAC-2019 agenda will be «Sustainable International Shipping and Marine Environment Protection in the Arctic».

In the framework of the event you will be able to:

• try your hand at solving cases on the Arctic Sustainable Shipping;
  • get a new experience of participating in business games;
  • join the work of the round tables and discuss the problems of sustainable development of the Arctic;
  • attend lectures of invited experts and expand your knowledge of the region;
  • meet colleagues from various countries.

There is also an additional cultural program provided to the participants.

The Council is the primary forum for international cooperation and environmental protection in the Arctic. Its working groups contribute to knowledge creation on the Arctic and its fragile ecosystem.

MAC-2019 participants will be simulating the work of two of the Arctic Council's working groups: PAME and CAFF, as well as that of the AC’s Senior Arctic Officials and Ministers. Participants will receive their assigned roles and readings in the coming weeks.
