V MGIMO Alumni Meeting in Slovakia

January 31st, the fifth annual meeting of Slovak graduates unfolded in Bratislava. The event was attended by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector A. Malgin, the Director of the Alumni Association I. Arsenyev and the Chairman of the Trade Union Committee V. Shishkin.

The guests were greeted by the Honorary Doctor of MGIMO, Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic A. Danko, the Slovak State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs L. Parizek (MGIMO graduate 2012), the Russian Ambassador to Slovakia A. Fedotov (1972 graduate) and the Chairman of the Board of the International investment bank N. Kosov (1978 graduate).

MGIMO’s Vice-Rector A. Malgin conveyed to the participants the Rector Anatoly Torkunov’s congratulations on the anniversary meeting and spoke about the development priorities of the University today and the plans to expand cooperation with the Slovak community of graduates.

Commemorative awards were handed to the guests, who enjoyed musical entertainment and interesting discussions.

The Slovak Alumni Club is one of the most dynamic associations of MGIMO graduates, which meets up on a yearly basis and allows young graduates to mingle with older alumni. The event brought together this year over 120 participants from the Slovak Republic and from the Czech Republic.
