MGIMO Team Wins Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court

March 4th—8th, the final rounds of the esteemed Investment Arbitration Moot Court were held in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), with the participation of teams of students from prestigious schools of law from universities around the world.

This year for the first time in the twelve years the competition has been running, a Russian team received the first prize. MGIMO presented the victorious team and took all the major trophies of the championship, winning the final, the two preliminary stages in Moscow and Paris, the prize for the best team from a non-OECD state, and the Best Advocate Award in the individual competition (won by Georgy Obolentsev).

All members of the MGIMO team received certificates to attend a three-week placement at The Hague Academy of International Law (Netherlands) and Georgy Obolentsev was offered a scholarship to pursue his studies at Queen Mary University’s School of International Arbitration (London).
