MGIMO Participates in NAFSA 2017 Conference

5 June 2017

May 28th to June 2nd, the international conference and exhibition NAFSA 2017 unfolded in Los Angeles (USA). MGIMO was represented at the event by the Director of the School of Government and International Affairs, Mikhail Troitsky and the Executive Director of the University’s Endowment Fund, Marina Petrova.

Over ten thousand professors and administrators from the world’s leading universities gathered to participate in discussions on a myriad of topics including the current trends on the international market of educational services, strategies to improve higher education and the benefits of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between universities.

Mikhail Troitsky and Marina Petrova took part in master classes on how to attract foreign students and develop endowment funds. MGIMO representatives also met with current and potential MGIMO partners to discuss their collaboration including LUISS University (Italy), American University and the University of California (USA).

Most of the speakers at NAFSA 2017 agreed that one of the most effective ways to improve the competitiveness of a university nationally and globally is to promote internationalization by developing joint research and educational programs with universities the world over.
