Category: Endowment Stories MGIMO Faculty at Oxford Summer Seminar 1 August 2017 Starting July 23rd and for two weeks, a group of MGIMO lecturers took part in an «English Language Teachers Summer Seminar» at Oxford University. This visit is part of a development plan for lecturers to improve their professional skills. 15 faculty members participated in the event. The course was organized by the Department of Continuing Education of Exeter College. During the first week, the participants discovered new methods for teaching English at university level and discussed best practices. The MGIMO team also attended lectures on the following topics: Developing Effective Listening Skills and Strategies, Transformational Leadership Through Teaching, Secrets of the Test Designers: What every teacher should know, Using mobile devices in your lessons, Approaches to integrating pronunciation into your teaching, Visual Literacy for ELT Teachers. The lectures were delivered by leading Oxford Professors, including Adrian Underhill, Hania Kryszewska, Charles Boyle. The program also comprised interactive workshops, case studies, seminars, and a rich cultural program. The event was a fine opportunity for Oxford and MGIMO teaching staff to exchange ideas and strengthen the relationship between their universities. Vk
