MGIMO Career Webinar

May 27th, a career webinar for MGIMO students unfolded with the participation of representatives of Russian and international companies. The event took place in the framework the MGIMO Career Days and was jointly organized by the University’s Endowment Fund, the Career Center and the Alumni Association in order to inform students about the different internship and employment opportunities.

A student survey revealed a list of the students’ preferred employers, which largely coincided with the list of Endowment partner companies. Two webinar sessions were organized thematically and in function of the different industries (banking, money management, consulting, legal services, IT, the media). The following companies participated in them: Gazprombank, VTB Bank, S8 Capital, the company “Region”, Yandex, Google, BCG, TASS news agency, the international law firm Clifford Chance and the law firm Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners.

The webinar was kicked off by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources V.Morozov, who described how the Career Days would take place remotely and invited students to participate in the online job fair.

The first session had for speakers A.Vorobiev, partner of the Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners Law Office, the Director of Yandex.Taxi and Geo Government Relations, MGIMO graduate A.Petrakov, the Head of the Center for Work with Government Bodies of Gazprombank A.Zhvanetskaya, the Partner of the International Law Firm Clifford Chance, an MGIMO graduate A.Iliev and the Director for Interaction with Government Authorities at Google Russia, an MGIMO graduate M.Zhunich. I.Aleksandrovsky, the Deputy Head of the Office for Work with Students and Graduates moderated the session.

During the second session, the BCG partner, MGIMO graduate M.Sazonov, an expert of the VTB Bank Staff Recruitment Department A.Sorokina, the Director of the Analytical Department of the “Region” Company V.Vaysberg, a Deputy Head from TASS news agency L.Zhukova, the S8 Capital Digital and Marketing Director A.Usmanov all spoke with students. The session was moderated by the Director of the MGIMO Endowment M.Petrova.

The speakers shared with students the secrets of having a successful career, gave applicants professional advice and presented some of the programs and internships on offer in their companies.
