The annual update of the SCImago research ranking for the peer-reviewed scientific publications brought good news. This year, “International Trends” journal was indexed in four new subject areas: 1) Law; 2) History; 3) Economics, Econometrics and Finance; and 4) Cultural Studies. It entered Q1 in History and Cultural Studies category, while being in Q2 in Law and Economics, Econometrics and Finance. As for its priority category – Political Science and International Relations – the journal kept its position in Q2, while in Law it came as the leading Russian journal, indexed in the system.

This year, “Polis. Political Studies” was indexed for the first time in Political Science and International Relations category, entering Q2, while maintaining its position in its traditional subject area – Sociology and Political Science.

The subject areas of the journals are widened in accordance with the MGIMO priority research areas, and their better positions in the rankings attest to the fact that authors, reviewers and editors comply with very high academic standards. Uniting scientists and scholars regardless of their beliefs or nationality, these standards have been shaped during the long evolution of the modern evidence-based scientific institutions that started at least in the 17th century.

MGIMO journals will continue to stick to the universal academic standards regardless of the policy of international publishers and data bases.
