New English-taught Bachelor Program in International Business and Finance

22 January 2021

The MGIMO School of Government and International Affairs is launching a new Bachelor program in International Business and Finance, taught entirely in English. The program has been designed specifically for Russian and international applicants who studied in high school in English and received IB, A level, GCSE / iGCSE diplomas or the equivalent.

The program is original in that it combines modern economic theory with quantitative methods in the field of economics and finance, all the while offering an understanding of how modern corporations function and an analysis of their economic and business processes. Students of the program will acquire a wide skillset allowing them to become financial analysts, business managers, entrepreneurs and leaders. One third of the curriculum will be dedicated to the core subjects MGIMO excels at teaching and for which it has a global reputation: international political and legal studies.

The new Bachelor of Science program in International Business and Finance builds upon the experience of the first English-medium BA in Government and International Affairs at MGIMO, which was launched in 2013 and from which four cohorts of students have already graduated.

The International Business and Finance program opens up many new opportunities for its graduates, who can pursue their studies in MGIMO Masters programs or in other leading universities the world over. Alternatively, graduates can find work in the corporate sector as financial analysts or managers, in international organizations and in the public service.

The application process will take place remotely starting from March 2021. Entrance tests in Mathematics and English will be held online. Classes begin in September 2021.

For all questions related to admissions to the International Business and Finance program, please contact the School of Government and International Affairs or subscribe to the School's Facebook page.

High school graduates with Russian USE or International Baccalaureate (IB) diplomas interested in studying economics and finance in English in Russia and the UK may apply for MGIMO’s dual degree program in International Finance and Investment Management implemented jointly with Henley Business School at the University of Reading (UK).
