Alexander O. Chubaryan

Academic Advisor for the Institute of World History, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

He was born October 14, 1931.In 1956, he graduated with honours from the History Department of Moscow State University. In 1959, he graduated from the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1958, he has worked at the Institute of history (since 1968 it became the Institute of General History of the USSR Academy of Science, then renamed as the Russian Academy of Sciences). Since 1988, he has held the post of a director of the Institute of World History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Since 2000, he is a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.In 2001, he became a member of the Council for Science and High Technologies under the President of the Russian Federation. In 2007, he became a member of the Commission on religious associations under the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2009-2012, he was a member of the Commission on countering attempts to falsify the history of Russia.
