Yury P. Simonov (Viazemsky)

Candidate of Historical Studies, MGIMO professor, member of the Union of Russian Writers, Head of the Department of World Literature and Culture

He was born on 5 June 1951.

He graduated from MGIMO’s School of International Journalism.

He worked for the magazine “International Life”. He has written some fiction  (“Jester”, “Gang of Justice”, “They Brought the Cannons”, etc.) as well as non-fiction and scientific works (“The Origin of Spirituality”, “The Weapons of the Odyssey”, etc.). He speaks five languages. He is the creator and host of the televised game show for high-school students (“Umniki i Umnitsy” (“Brilliant Minds”) (www.umniki.ru).
